Vitiligo is a long term skin condition characterized by patches of the skin losing their pigment. The patches of skin affected become white and usually have sharp margins. The hair from the skin may also become white. Inside the mouth and nose may also be involved.Typically both sides of the body are affected.Often the patches begin on areas of skin that are exposed to the sun. It is more noticeable in people with dark skin. Vitiligo may result in psychological stress and those affected may be stigmatized.

Skin lesions can present themselves anywhere on the face or body.  At Changes, we carry out treatment on all areas which may not be covered by the NHS for practical or cosmetic reasons.

This includes mole removal, skin tag removal, milia removal, cyst removal and wart removal.  Methods and prices vary depending on the size, placement and depth of the lesion

Electrolysis is a common method of removing unwanted hair. A small needle or thin metal probe is inserted into the opening of the skin where hair grows (small sacs beneath the skin called hair follicles). Next, a low-level electrical current passes through the needle or probe into your skin and destroys the hair follicle. Hair is unable to grow back in an area where the follicle has been destroyed.

Iontophoresis

Taking Care of You

Iontophoresis is a safe medical procedure that involves sending mild electrical currents through water and into the skin. It’s usually used to treat excessive sweating. However, it can also be used to treat sports injuries by delivering anti-inflammatory medications directly into the skin. When treating excessive sweating, iontophoresis treatments must be done indefinitely to maintain desired results. When treating sports injuries, iontophoresis treatments are only necessary until an injury begins to heal.

Cryosurgery

The Care You Deserve

Cryosurgery is a type of surgery that involves the use of extreme cold to destroy abnormal tissues, such as tumors.Cryosurgery is typically used for tumors or precancerous lesions found on your skin. However, some tumors inside the body can be treated this way as well. Advances in cryosurgery technology have dramatically reduced the long-term side effects once associated with the treatment. More studies are needed on the long-term side effects and effectiveness of cryosurgery.

Microdermabrasion

Helping You Get Healthy

With dermabrasion, a dermatologist or plastic surgeon "sands" your skin with a special instrument. The procedure makes way for a new, smoother layer of skin to replace the skin that's been treated.

Microdermabrasion uses tiny exfoliating crystals that are sprayed on the skin. It works best on problems such as dull skin, brown spots, and age spots. Microdermabrasion works on all skin types and colors. It makes subtle changes, causing no skin color change or scarring.

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck or hands. A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.

Treatment for peptic ulcers depends on the cause. Usually treatment will involve killing the H. pylori bacterium, if present, eliminating or reducing use of aspirin and similar pain medications, if possible, and helping your ulcer to heal with medication.

Scarring is related to age, ethnic origin, and the severity, depth and location of the burn. Scars form when the dermal or lower layer of the skin has been damaged, as in the case of a burn. The body forms a protein called collagen to help heal the damaged skin. Normally the collagen fibers are laid down in a very organized manner, but in hypertrophic scars these fibers are created in a very disorganized manner, which gives the new skin/scar a different texture and appearance.

Leprosy is the most common treatable cause of neuropathy in the world.[1] In all patients with leprosy, the nerve tissue is involved. The dermal nerves are infected in all skin lesions, including those due to indeterminate leprosy of childhood. Clinical examination is often sufficient to reliably diagnose leprous neuropathy.

Narrow-band UVB can result in burning, just like sunlight and broadband UVB. Frequent emollients should be applied to burned skin, and if recommended by the therapist, topical steroids. It sometimes provokes polymorphous light eruption.

Long term exposure to ultraviolet radiation ultimately causes skin ageing and skin cancers. In theory, less UV exposure occurs because the patient is only exposed to therapeutic wavelengths.

Nails grow continuously throughout life, except after exceptional physiological or traumatic events when they are shed. All other less disruptive influences result in changes in the colour, thickness, texture, and growth of nails and may also affect the periungual tissues. The most common local diseases affecting the nail are psoriasis, fungal nail infections, periungual eczema, and viral warts.

A torn or split ear lobe is a problem in which the pierced hole gets wider due to the overweight of your earrings, or some injury usually caused by child pull on the earring. Best treatments to heal your damaged, but delicate earlobe with full care and effectiveness. For this purpose, we use a Suture-Less ear lobe repair method which is a very novel surgical technique that helps to repair your split earlobe without the use of any stitches.

The trend of body piercing at sites other than the earlobe has grown in popularity in the past decade. The tongue, lips, nose, eyebrows, nipples, navel, and genitals may be pierced. Complications of body piercing include local and systemic infections, poor cosmesis, and foreign body rejection. Swelling and tooth fracture are common problems after tongue piercing.

Skin Camouflage is the skilled application of specially formulated creams designed to minimise and neutralise defects or discolouration of the skin by covering, concealing and masking them at surface level.  Skin camouflage techniques can be used to conceal a number of conditions, such as post surgical concealment, scars, burns, birthmarks, rosacea, vitiligo, and other pigmentation problems.

Infertility is the inability of a person, animal or plant to reproduce by natural means. It is usually not the natural state of a healthy adult organism, except notably among certain eusocial species (mostly haplodiploid insects).

Infertility is “a disease of the reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse (and there is no other reason, such as breastfeeding or postpartum amenorrhoea). Primary infertility is infertility in a couple who have never had a child. Secondary infertility is failure to conceive following a previous pregnancy. Infertility may be caused by infection in the man or woman, but often there is no obvious underlying cause.

Sexual dysfunction (or sexual malfunction or sexual disorder) is difficulty experienced by an individual or a couple during any stage of a normal sexual activity, including physical pleasure, desire, preference, arousal or orgasm. According to the DSM-5, sexual dysfunction requires a person to feel extreme distress and interpersonal strain for a minimum of 6 months (excluding substance or medication-induced sexual dysfunction) Sexual dysfunctions can have a profound impact on an individual's perceived quality of sexual life. The term sexual disorder may not only refer to physical sexual dysfunction, but to paraphilias as well; this is sometimes termed disorder of sexual preference.

Facial rejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment (or series of cosmetic treatments), which aims to restore a youthful appearance to the human face. Facial rejuvenation can be achieved through either surgical and/or non-surgical options. Procedures can vary in invasiveness and depth of treatment. Surgical procedures can restore facial symmetry through targeted procedures and facial restructuring and skin alterations. Non-surgical procedures can target specific depths of facial structures and treat localized facial concerns such as wrinkles, skin laxity, hyperpigmentation and scars.
